No matter what season you take Vermont vacations, you’ll see this spectacular seven wonders and fall in love with the Green Mountain State. And just in case, if by chance I think, only seven wonders – think again. These are all the wonders of a vacation adventure complete in itself, breathtaking views, wildlife, and a delicious dinner and accommodation.
The Green Mountain National Forest is 400,000 hectares across two-thirds of the length of Vermont. The Forest consists of six wilderness areas offering camping and 900 miles of trails, and the Backcountry environment for all ages. Camping sites are available first come first served basis during the summer.
Popular destinations in the Forest include the Robert Frost Trail near Ripton, Texas Falls Recreation Area near Hancock, the Moosalamoo near Brandon, and Lake Dunmore State Park and Brandbury
Quechee GORGE
Central Vermont is located near the town of Woodstock, Quechee Gorge is a geological wonder. Nicknamed Vermont’s Grand Canyon, the canyon was carved when the last glacier, which receded in New England and some 12,000 years ago. Today Ottauguechee current flows through the strait and a bridge spans, which offers a wonderful photogenic points for the visitors.
The entrance to the park just west of the bridge, and offers trails down the canyon and wooded nature walks.
SCENIC ROUTE FROM 100 TO Killington Waterbury
Vermont countless spectacular result, but none more spectacular than the portion of Route 100 from Killington to Waitsfield. The route of the Green Mountain National Forest and cross-winds through the mountain valleys, rivers, streams, waterfalls, and small agricultural villages. Along this route, then move to open farmland to the steep mountain cliffs on both sides of a narrow winding road, and then finally back to the open areas.
Waterbury in the second half of the road offers a spectacular view of the remote northern Green Mountains.
Stowe
Nestled in the two mountain ranges, perhaps the most picturesque town in New England – Stowe. The draw and attraction that many of the Stowe, Mount Mansfield, and the mountain dominates the landscape.
After the snow melts, the families have an infinite variety of things to do in their Vermont vacations, including swimming, hiking, horseback riding, canoeing, kayaking, scenic driving tours. Mount Mansfield itself provides hiking trails in the fit and energetic, or you can take in the magnificent views of the private car you drive to the summit ridge, the city’s toll road.
Lake Champlain Islands
Lake Champlain seems like a lost cousin, the Great Lakes. Long and deep, but the average width of only 12 miles north of the area dotted with lots of beautiful islands popular Vermont vacations. Routes 2 and 78 connect with the larger, and the Vermont land. One of the last ‘undiscovered’ treasures of New England, the Lake Champlain Islands, Vermont offers great vistas of the Green Mountains to the east and west of the Adirondacks in New York.
NORTHEAST KINGDOM
Northeast Kingdom, a vast 1.3 million acres of mostly wilderness area, which includes the state forests, parks, lakes, ponds, rivers and streams. This is an area where little has changed since the glaciers left, and the adventurous can find a lot of opportunity to live your dream Vermont vacation.
Nature shares the Northeast Kingdom, the people, and this is an area where the wildlife and scenery of the king, and the kids happy to take the back seat. Upload your stuff and camping equipment, St. Johnsbury, check your gas level, and be prepared for a refreshing experience!
COVERED BRIDGES
Vermont does not mention the miracle of the best collection of bypass bridge in the United States. If you include the bridges in New Hampshire and covers shared the Connecticut River, the state 106, which is more than any other New England states. Most bridges are accessible to the public, in excellent condition and a pleasure to discover and photograph.
The craftsmen who designed these monuments had no idea they are now built a legacy with which the visitors around the world. Wherever you are in the state of Vermont itself not far from the bridge
